ABOUT THE FACULTY

The Faculty of Technology and Engineering, as it stands today, formed along with the establishment of The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda in 1949. It is an outgrowth of what was popularly then known as Kala Bhavan Technical Institute (KBTI) established in June 1890 by Late His Highness the Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III of Baroda State. Thus, it has completed one hundred thirty one years of glorious service towards the cause of technical education in the country and consists of 11 Engineering departments and three Science departments. Apart from these, there are four Centres of Excellence i.e (i)Siemens Centre, (ii) Anchor Institute(iii) industrial Mathematics and (iv) Polymers. The campus is spread over 17 acres of land and has about 3500 students studying on the campus.
